Sgt. Santiago Vazquez has served Broward County as a law enforcement officer for over 23 years. He has served as a Deputy, a Detective, a Community Relations Officer, Motor Deputy, a Sergeant and a Motor Sergeant. He has received the Gold Cross, one of the highest awards given by the Broward Sheriff’s Office. In addition, Sgt. Vazquez has seven life-saving awards, many other commendations and has completed the Executive Leadership Academy at Nova Southeast University.
Sgt. Santiago Vazquez is a war veteran of the United States Army having served in combat during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, in Guantanamo Bay Cuba for humanitarian operations in support of Haitian migrants and in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Sgt. Vazquez is the recipient of numerous Army commendations and meritorious awards and was honorably discharged.
Broward County needs to make sure we keep out the disgraced sheriff Scott Israel.
